The Driftwood Fang
Lore
Salvaged from the wreck of a harbormaster's vessel, this anchor was lashed to a shaft of ancient ironwood by a dockside arcanist who believed the sea had already taught the iron where to bite. Sailors who later encountered its wielder in battle swore the weapon remembered every hull it had ever hooked.
Effect
On each strike, the anchor's corroded flukes seek out the thinnest seam in any shell, plate, or hide — threading through gaps no eye can find, as though the rust itself has learned the patience of slow erosion.
Appearance
The anchor is a brutish, asymmetrical mass of deep orange-brown corrosion, its flukes pitted and cratered like coastal rock at low tide, with dark green patches of old barnacle scarring pressed into the iron's surface. The handle is a thick haft of dense, dark ironwood — nearly black along the grain, worn smooth at the grip from salt and sweat, wrapped at the throat in fraying cord that has been stiffened into something closer to bark by years of brine.
